The Architect, Jack Devitt, is the owner and principal designer at Devitt Design Services. He is a graduate of the Solar Enerty program of Cabrillo College, Santa Cruz, California, 1981. He has since worked in the field of residential construction and design. With 23 years experience, he has an in-depth understanding of what makes a house design work. Jack has had a strong interest in designing healthful, energy efficient homes since the beginning of his career. Whether the design incorporates passive solar heating or is a conventionally heated home, Jack tries to incorporate many of the same principles, such as letting in lots of natural light and visually connecting the indoors to the outdoors, and having a feeling of opoenness in the floor plans. By using innovative materials and insulation methods, as well as modern heating and cooling equipment that provides high levels of energy efficiency, Jack's designs pay close attention to ensuring plenty of fresh, clean air in the home and minimizing situations such as the trapping of humidity and the promoting of mold growth. PR Anderson Homes Phil Anderson has been building homes for families for over 25 years. Although, he has built over 1000 homes in his career, this will be his first GLBT development, and he is very excited to be a part of the Cove Creek Cottages project. Phil is a native of Asheville, and he has seen many positive changes in the Asheville area due to people like Sherri Schwartz who is strong advocate for the GLBT community. On a more personal note, Phil and his partner have been together for over 20 years. They have two small children, Emily 4 and Parker 3. They are advocates for CHANGE in the community. They want their children to be afforded the same civil rights as their peers and will not settle for anything less. Phil Anderson looks forward to working with all of the families that will be living in Cove Creek and he will make it his personal guarantee that they will love this place. This neighborhood will be the first of many that Sherri and Phil are hoping to develop.
